... ne sont jamais que des tentatives heureuses.
Georges Sand
(romancière Française: 1804-1876)
J'ai passé une soirée entière à écrire la lettre
A
If you would create something,
ReplyDeleteyou must be something.

~i am assuming this is saying finished of some sorts?!? i love the "A"...you have made me want ot bring out my long hidden caligraphy set and glass pens...i used to love to practice writing (before children) and do enjoy when i get to use my handwriting skills...to be inspired...thank you! brightest blessings~
Ange, a beautiful "A" indeed! As the saying goes, "Practice makes perfect!" I'm not a calligrapher but my good friend is. She gifts me with her creative talents from time to time. Last year she sent me some calling cards and note paper with an exquisite A that she had designed and hand colored. I'll scan it and sent it to you. Thanks for sharing. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteIt looks as though you were playing, dancing with the practice of 'A'
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with it!
Please help me, Ange. Does tentatives mean "attempts" in this quote? As in "they are never anything but happy attempts." I love Sand, but, as you can see, my French is rusty. Very rusty.
ReplyDeleteNow that I read your whole post, I think (hope) it must mean this because you write "Je tente"--I attempt. Am I way off? Please correct me, if I am.
I adore seeing your work in progress, and the final A is just beautiful--delicate yet confident.
Forgive me for pestering you for a mini French lesson. You are not only talented, but patient, too.
xoxo Gigi
It's a beautiful "A!" It makes me happy and feels like confetti and nice linens - two things I don't have enough of in my life - giggle!
ReplyDeleteAck! I hate when I can't read the french. Sheesh, 4 years of french you'd think I'd get some of it. Anyway, whatever it is you've done here (apparently an A) it looks very beautiful, well balanced, lovely.
ReplyDeleteTout au plus jolies 'A' J'ai vu Ange!
ReplyDeleteMillie ^_^
oh, that's beautiful, Ange. So graceful, it's a work of art!
